"Geoscience First Experience" is a field practice activity organized by the School of Earth Science and Engineering of Nanjing University, mainly for freshmen in Nanjing University. It aims to take nature as the classroom, and guide the freshmen to better comprehend geoscience knowledge and exercise practical skills in the field while enjoying the natural beauty.

The "Geology First Experience" program has been held for 12 years since 2012, leading over 1,000 students to experience the beauty of geology in mountains and rivers. This year's "Geology First Experience" featured four routes at Suzhou, Lianyungang, Hangzhou, and Xuancheng in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui for field investigation. 122 freshmen from Anbang Academy, Kuangyaming College, Jianxiong Academy, Yuxiu Academy, Kai Jia Academy, and Xingzhi Academy participated in the activity, accompanied by 11teachers and 8 teaching assistants.
