Field Study in Busan: Exploring Occupational Patterns and Achievements of Old and New Chinese Immigrants

From July 20 to August 2, a global field study team organized by the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Nanjing University conducted a research trip in Busan, South Korea. This study focused on comparing the occupational patterns and achievements of old and new Chinese immigrants in South Korea.

The group was divided into three teams according to their research themes: Marriage & Family, Urban Space, and Entrepreneurship & Finance. Each team conducted systematic fieldwork throughout Busan, gathering data and insights pertinent to their specific areas of focus. The program was supervised by Professor Yudong Yang, Dr. Yi Jin, and Dr. Aihong Li from NJU's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, as well as Professor Dongen Rui from Pukyong National University, South Korea. Fifteen undergraduate students from various departments across NJU and three students from Pukyong National University participated in the trip, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the research.
