This academic year marks Robert Neal Ridley (Bo Rui)'s seventh at Nanjing University. Since arriving in 2018 to pursue a Master's in Software Engineering, and now a PhD candidate in Computer Science, Robert has achieved significant academic success. He has published five high-quality papers, presented at top international conferences, earned the top-tier award in the third DIGIX Global AI Challenge, and was nominated for the 2023 Nanjing University "Student of the Year" Award.

As a member of the Natural Language Processing (NLP) research group, Robert's research interests include automated essay scoring, writing analysis, and code generation. He is dedicated to sharing his knowledge, serving as a teaching assistant for both undergraduate and graduate AI courses at Nanjing University, as well as teaching classes for international exchange students. He has also presented his research on academic writing analysis at the EMNLP conference in Singapore.

Beyond academics, Robert is a passionate cultural ambassador. His involvement in rowing has provided a platform for international exchange. He regularly competes in domestic and international rowing competitions, including the Around The Island Race in Hong Kong, which he has taken part in twice. He has also organized a trip for his rowing club in Nanjing to visit the historic London Rowing Club, fostering cultural exchange between China and the UK.

In the Nanjing University "Student of the Year" Showcase, Robert articulated his vision to "Connect the World through Technology". This vision reflects his belief in the power of cultural and technological exchange to foster mutual understanding and development. He aspires to continue contributing to international dialogue and promoting friendly relations between China and the rest of the world.
