On January 10, the 25th "Innovation and Education" Master Supervisor Meeting was held on NJU Xianlin Campus. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended and addressed at the meeting.

On behalf of the university, Tan congratulated the newly appointed supervisors and made requirements for the university's postgraduate education work. He emphasized that the title of postgraduate supervisor is a great responsibility, and hoped that all the supervisors would work hard to cultivate more outstanding talents.

Since 2021, NJU has selected and appointed outstanding master supervisors and educational administrators as “Moral Education Mentors”. In 2024, 46 supervisors and administrators were selected as Outstanding Moral Education Mentors. Tan Tieniu presented awards to representatives of these outstanding supervisors. Zhou Zhihua, Vice President of NJU chaired the first half of the meeting.




Wang Xiaolei, Dean of the Graduate School released the Report on the Development of Postgraduate Education in Nanjing University and read out the Decision on Commending the Outstanding Postgraduate Supervisors and Outstanding Postgraduate Supervisory Teams of Nanjing University. Li Hao, Director of the Department of Student Work of NJU CPC Council read out the Decision of Commending 2024 Outstanding Postgraduate Moral Education Mentors.

Wang Xiaolei presided over the second half of the meeting. Gao Fang, Director of the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences and Cao Xun, Professor at the School of Electronic Sciences and Engineering shared their experience as supervisors. Chen Changkai, Director of the Mental Health Education and Research Centre gave a lecture on psychological support and promotion of excellence for postgraduate students.

The "Innovation & Education" Master Supervisor Meeting is an innovative move by NJU to promote graduate education. Over the past 25 years, it has played an important role in promoting the construction of postgraduate supervisors team and improving the quality of postgraduate training, and has become a brand-name programme for NJU's supervisor training.
