On February 21, NJU holds work arrangement meeting for the new semester. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of CAS attended and deployed the work of the university party committee and administration for the new semester.

On behalf of the NJU Party Committee, Tan Tieniu extends his best wishes for the New Year and sincere greetings for the new term. He pointed out that in the past year, Nanjing University has made remarkable achievements, and 2025 is a very important and special year. In order to promote the high quality development of NJU's various undertakings, he put forward the requirement of further strengthening the "seven consciousness", that is, the political consciousness, the mission consciousness, the reform consciousness, the consciousness of overcoming difficulties, efficiency consciousness, the consciousness of hard work, and the consciousness of collaboration; and made specific deployment on the work of Party building of NJU this year, to comprehensively strengthen the leadership of the Party, and to lead NJU's high-quality development with high-quality Party building.

Tan Zhemin made a report on "2025 Semester Work Arrangement Meeting", which systematically elaborated the new situation and new requirements of NJU's development, reviewed the highlights of the work in 2024, and arranged the key points of the work in 2025. His report summed up the achievements of the year 2024, focusing on nine key tasks including the "Forging Ahead Initiative", Discipline Development, Talent Cultivation, Scientific and Technological Innovation, Cultural Construction, etc.; and also carefully deployed the work in the new semester according to the main points of work in the relevant areas.

The meeting also announced the "2024 Outstanding Contribution Award." Tan Tieniu and Tan Zhemin presented "NJU Award for Major Contribution to Scientific Research" to Professor Wen Haihu's team, Professor Shen Shuzhong's team, Professor Zhang Chenyu's team and the Mopanshan Archaeological team.

Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council chaired the meeting and announced of the Decision on the Awarding of the 2024 NJU Outstanding Contribution Award.
