On March 5, Zhu Dijian, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology led a delegation to Nanjing University. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences welcomed the delegation at Xianlin Campus. They had a discussion on the prospects of cooperation in the fields of scientific research and industry and training of top talents.
Tan introduced the development history and achievements of NJU's discipline construction, and pointed out that our university's scientific research work is mainly based on basic disciplines, and is vigorously developing new engineering disciplines. He also introduced the construction of humanities and social sciences, and emphasized the service of these disciplines to the society and local community. He stated that NJU will support the construction and development of Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, and jointly promote the cultivation of innovative talents.
Zhu said that Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology has the characteristics of "integration of industry and education, fusion of science and education, and intersection of disciplines." He recalled his memories of studying at Nanjing University, and hoped that NJU would support and expand cooperation with Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology in scientific research, talent cultivation, and construction of disciplines.
Suo Wenbin, Vice President of NJU attended the meeting. He introduced the construction of Suzhou Campus and the development of new engineering to the delegation. During the meeting, the two sides launched in-depth exchanges around the construction of a new world-class research university, postgraduate enrollment and joint training of top-notch innovative talents, discipline construction, scientific research and industrial cooperation, and further explored the prospects for the development of strategic cooperation.
The delegation visited the University History Museum. Zhang Xian'en, Dean of the Faculty of Synthetic Biology, Yan Fan, Assistant President and Heads of related department of Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology and Heads of NJU related departments participated in the meeting.
