On March 5, Ge Daokai, Vice President of China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) led a delegation to Nanjing University. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences met with the delegation on Xianlin campus.
Tan welcomed the delegation and extended his gratitude on behalf of NJU for the support from CAHE. He pointed out that 2025 is the key year for implementing The 2024-2035 Master Plan on Building China into a Leading Country in Education. NJU is moving towards the goal of building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. The university will deeply study and implement President Xi Jinping's important exposition on education and the spirit of the National Education Conference, and work with CAHE to make greater contributions to the construction of a leading country in education and the promotion of Chinese path to modernization.
Ge said that CAHE is the longest established and largest national academic society in the field of higher education in China, and that it has always been committed to better serving the development of higher education. In order to further study and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and The 2024-2035 Master Plan on Building China into a Leading Country in Education, CAHE will continue to build brand activities in higher education, and set up a platform for exchange and cooperation for the majority of colleges and universities and higher education practitioners. Ge stated that CAHE looks forward to enhance communication and cooperation with NJU and jointly contributing wisdom and strength to the construction of a leading country in education.
During the meeting, Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council stated that NJU will actively explore how universities should seize the opportunities and challenges brought about by the construction of a leading country of education, and promote the high-quality development of the university. The two sides also had in-depth and discussions on the 63rd Higher Education Expo China, the Forum on Building a Leading Country in Higher Education, and other related matters. Heads and representatives of NJU's related administrative departments attended the meeting.
