On March 5, Wang Jun, Deputy General Manager of the Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) led a delegation to Nanjing University to discuss the strategic cooperation between NJU and DEC. Suo Wenbin, Vice President of NJU and Ding Aijun, Assistant President attended the meeting.
Suo Wenbin extended his warm welcome to Wang Jun and his delegation. He introduced to them NJU's history, advantageous disciplines as well as recent achievements in talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation and service to the local community. He expected that NJU and DEC could deepen their strategic cooperation, focusing on the core areas of artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, new materials and other areas.
Wang Jun introduced DEC's achievements in accelerating the transformation of Green Smart Manufacturing. He stated that DEC will increase its investment in research and development in the fields of high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials, hoping to embrace new technologies with an open mind and play a synergistic role in innovation with universities and research institutes.
Ding Aijun pointed out that NJU has developed its new engineering disciplines on Suzhou Campus, supported by its strength in basic research. He expected that the two sides could jointly promote the Outstanding Engineer Cultivation Programme and deepen strategic cooperation.
Representatives of NJU's and DEC's related departments and schools attended the meeting.
