On March 4, Zhao Wenming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yangzhou University Committee and Vice President of Yangzhou University led a delegation to Nanjing University. Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council met with the delegation.
Chen accompanied the delegation's visit to the History Museum of NJU. He introduced the history of NJU, focusing on its achievements in the construction of liberal arts, cross disciplinary integration and scientific research and innovation platforms. He said that NJU has always been oriented to serve the national strategy, promoting the high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences, and contributing to the construction of a philosophy and social sciences system with Chinese characteristics.
Zhao expressed his gratitude to NJU and stated that this visit provides an important reference for the development of liberal arts in Yangzhou University. He expected that the two universities will continue to deepen the cooperation, and jointly explore the path of innovation and development of philosophy and social sciences, so as to provide intellectual support for serving the national strategic needs and regional economic and social development.
During the meeting, participants from both sides had in-depth discussions on the construction of philosophy and social sciences laboratories, management of scientific research teams, recognition of the achievements of think tanks, and the ideas of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and other issues. Both sides reached a consensus on the goals of further promoting the prosperity of philosophy and social sciences, which laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Gao Fang, Director of NJU's Office of Humanities and Social Sciences chaired the meeting. Heads of Yangzhou University's and NJU's related schools and departments attended the meeting.
