From March 24 to 25, Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), led a delegation to China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM) and State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). The meetings focused on deepening university-enterprise cooperation and collaborative development. Zhou Yuxian, Party Secretary and Chairman of CNBM, and Zhang Zhigang, Chairman and Party Secretary of SGCC, respectively hosted the discussions.
On March 24, Tan Tieniu led the delegation to CNBM, where both parties engaged in discussions on deepening strategic cooperation and expanding joint platforms.

Tan Tieniu expressed gratitude to CNBM for their warm reception and highly praised their recent achievements in research on new materials such as carbon fiber, glass fiber, composites, and advanced ceramics. He stated that in recent years, NJU has consistently adhered to President Xi Jinping's instructions to build a "world-class university with Chinese characteristics," striving to transform more research results into new productive forces and to embrace the mission of deeply integrating technological and industrial innovation. He hopes the university and enterprise will further strengthen practical cooperation across multiple dimensions, resonating in areas such as joint technological breakthroughs, results transformation and innovation funds, key laboratory construction, talent cultivation and student employment, and the construction of the "Suzhou Advanced Materials Valley," to better serve national strategic needs and regional development, and to contribute to high-level technological self-reliance.

Zhou Yuxian welcomed Tan Tieniu and his delegation and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the long-term support NJU has provided to the group. He introduced the group's industrial and research development, stating that NJU is a top-tier institution with a rich heritage and outstanding talent, having achieved significant accomplishments in fields such as artificial intelligence, materials science, and green environmental protection. The cooperation between the two parties in areas like new glass materials, non-metallic minerals, and fiber materials has also yielded excellent results. In the future, the group will join forces with NJU to actively promote cooperation in technological innovation, industry incubation, talent cultivation, international cooperation, and the construction of the "Suzhou Advanced Materials Valley," aiming for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Zheng Hairong, Member of the Standing Committee of the NJU Party Committee and Vice President of NJU, and Academician of the CAS, reviewed the successful cooperation between the university and CNBM in projects such as the "Lobster Eye X-ray Detection Satellite" and anticipated a broad prospect for joint cooperation in new material research and low-carbon process innovation, the establishment of an excellent engineering academy, regional strategic platforms, and the "Belt and Road" international science and technology cooperation network. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on related topics.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited the "Together to the Future" exhibition hall of CNBM to learn about the company's development history and achievements. Leaders and representatives of related departments of CNBM attended the meeting.
On March 25, Tan Tieniu led the delegation to SGCC for research and discussions on strong alliances and collaborative innovation.

Tan thanked SGCC for their warm reception and long-term support for Nanjing University's educational endeavors. He then introduced the university's academic heritage, profound cultural foundation, and the school ethos of prioritizing "sincerity." He pointed out that in recent years, NJU has actively leveraged its advantages in science and education to serve national strategies with high-quality scientific and technological achievements, adhering to open education and achieving remarkable results. SGCC, as a significant strategic technological force, plays an irreplaceable role as a hub for national stability and public welfare. He looks forward to the university and enterprise deepening cooperation at higher levels and broader fields, enhancing joint efforts driven by demand, strengthening talent cultivation through project traction, expanding international cooperation from points to areas, and promoting the co-construction of new energy systems with sustainable platforms to better support major national strategies as a "vanguard."

Zhang Zhigang warmly welcomed the NJU delegation. He stated that NJU, with its long history, is a renowned institution of higher learning and a leading academic entity in many fields, especially in recent years, with notable achievements in developing new engineering disciplines aligned with the main battleground of the national economy. He hopes to use the delegation's visit as an opportunity and new starting point to further deepen strategic and practical cooperation between the university and enterprise, combining the university's strengths with industry needs, focusing on basic research, consolidating scientific issues, smoothing cooperation channels, and planning joint projects. Particularly, he aims to find the best integration point for AI empowerment in the field of artificial intelligence, while strengthening the cultivation of engineering master's and doctoral talents and international cooperation to jointly contribute to the high-quality development of national energy.
